My Top Beauty Secrets

October 15, 2007

Exposing some of my very own personal beauty secrets I share with my friends, family, and clients. Enjoy!

Have oily roots?
My favorite trick for making my hair look good between washes is using baby powder on my roots. I’m sure you’ve all heard it before but, it really works!

Using hair conditioner as a mock shaving cream/gel.
I don’t like shaving cream/gels because I’m allergic to most of them. I opt for a regular hair conditioner as my mock shaving cream/gel for smoother softer skin.

Like wearing cream eyeshadows but, hate the creasing?
Apply a translucent loose powder on top. This will help prevent major creasing. Also, try to look for cream eyeshadow with a cream to powder finish.

Intensify your eyeliner.
If you use a cream/gel like eyeliner from a pot, dip a pencil eyeliner that is similiar in color in the pot and apply it to your lower waterline. What this does is makes the color intensify even more and prolongs the staying power of your eyeliner on your waterline.

Don’t have concealer on hand?
Don’t frat, just use the foundation (from a liquid form) that is in the cap of the container as a concealer. The foundation under the cap is thicker in consistency and makes a great concealer.

New to liquid eyeliner?
Apply a pencil eyeliner first as a guide and then, apply your liquid eyeliner on top.

Don’t half step, do it all.
If you are going to wear full on make up (eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, lip color), don’t forget the rest of your face! Wearing eye make up without foundation can actucally make your blemishes more obvious and stand out more. Don’t skip it if you need it. Check out Frappelattes for a DIY tinted moisturizer if you’re not a fan of wearing thick foundations.

Ps; Sorry for the lack of updates and comments! I’ve been super busy. I’ll try to post as much as I can but, I think a mini hiatus may be my second option.
